Hailed as “a terrific company" by the NY Times, Calpulli Mexican Dance Company tells stories through dance and music in a celebration of our community, our families, and our cultural legacy. Though based on Mexican stories, our artistic message aims to find the connections among all cultures and the important values we share. With a contemporary voice, we tell our stories mainly through folkloric dance and musical traditions that seek to highlight and celebrate the shared humanity of our experiences.

The Company tours a book of stories that share an enlightened perception of our voyage as immigrants and Mexican-Americans.
Logistical details:
Duration: 90 minutes with an intermission
Cast: 12 - 15 dancers
Musicians (optional): 3 - 4
Set-up time (minimum):
- 8 hours day before show - load-in / tech rehearsal / dress rehearsal
- 8 hours day of show - prior to performance

The Company has developed shorter versions of each of its stories, better suited for school-time performances without losing of its message or artistry.

Calpulli has developed **4 new stories** to adapt to small to mid-size venues, with more flexible format. This respects the artistry, storytelling, and energy of our full productions, making them accessible to even more audiences.
