Calpulli’s residencies are extended, multi week engagements led by Calpulli Teaching Artists, bringing Mexican dance and culture directly into the classroom. Students of all ages participate in weekly sessions, ranging from a few weeks to a full semester, that integrate dance curriculum with classroom learning and culminate in a student performance.
Calpulli collaborates closely with faculty to design lesson plans and goals that engage students, teachers, parents, and the broader community. Professional costuming for student performances can also be provided.
Interested in bringing a Calpulli residency to your students?

Calpulli is committed to sharing Mexican dance with all communities, including special needs and adapted-mobility audiences. Our Teaching Artists tailor programs to ensure accessibility and meaningful participation for every learner.
Calpulli is a registered vendor with the New York City Department of Education, BOCES of New York State, and the Connecticut Library Consortium, and can contract directly through Parent Associations or purchase orders. Programs are designed in alignment with the NYC Department of Education Blueprint for Dance Learning and can incorporate additional local or state standards.
Calpulli is a proud partner and roster artist with Arts Horizons, Flushing Town Hall, City Lore, Brooklyn Public Library, and the Brooklyn Arts Council.
