PUEBLA: THE STORY OF CINCO DE MAYO
An Educational Journey to “Puebla: The Story of Cinco de Mayo" tells a universal tale of the underdog fighting impossible odds designed specifically for students and teachers. The setting is the Battle of Puebla when a small army of Mexican soldiers and commoners defeated the French army, the strongest military force of the time, on the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), 1862. Through folkloric and contemporary dance, live music and elaborate costuming, Calpulli elaborates on the history of the now-famous date and celebrates the culture and people of Puebla.

The educational journey is designed as a virtual, in-person or hybrid experience. The virtual program includes the following:
- A 1-hour virtual performance shared via Vimeo link
- A study guide full of information and educational activities for students and teachers alike.
- Licensing options for 1 event, 1 week, or multiple weeks
The following options are also available to add on:
- Directors and Artists attending the virtual event live from a remote location for introductions, Q&A, and/ or interactive workshops.
- Directors and Artists attending the virtual event in-person at host location for similar activities
